In 2023, Léargas will become the National Agency for Erasmus+ Sport Mobility. Until now the entire Sport Action of Erasmus+ has been centralised and managed by the European Commission in Brussels. From 2023, the mobility action (KA1) will be de-centralised to National Agencies and there will be mobility opportunities for people involved in sport as volunteers, trainers and coaches at grassroots level.

Under Erasmus+ Key Action 1 (Mobility of  Staff in the Field of Sport), people who work in sport will have the opportunity to increase their skills and their organisation’s competences. This part of the programme will be managed by Léargas.

The first deadline for this action is 23 February 2023 for activities taking place in summer 2023. Ahead of this deadline interested clubs and organisations should get set up with an Organisation ID (OID). To assist with this process and to give general information about Erasmus+ Sport, Léargas will host an Information Session in December.  Register via our Eventbrite page.

“We are delighted to be part of the opening of another strand within the Erasmus+ family. It is our hope that through Erasmus+ Sport even more people will have the opportunity to reach their potential through a transnational experience…” says Lorraine Gilligan, Executive Director of Léargas.

The other aspects of Erasmus+ Sport (Small-Scale Partnerships, Cooperation Partnership, Not-for-profit European Sport Events and Capacity Building in the Field of Sport) continue to be managed by the European Commission.
