Research Launch: The Impact of Erasmus+ on Vocational Education and Training in Ireland

15 October 2026

Léargas is pleased to announce the publication of its latest research report, The Impact of Erasmus+ on Vocational Education and Training in Ireland.

Commissioned by the Irish National VET Team, this impact study assesses the effects of Erasmus+ vocational education and training (VET) mobility in Ireland. It examines how mobility experiences influenced learners, staff and organisations, while gathering evidence of their value and transformative potential.

The study contributes to the evidence base for the continued development and support of VET mobility through Erasmus+. It used a qualitative, ethnographically informed methodology that combined desk research, analysis of participant reports, a survey, and interviews with Erasmus+ coordinators and members of the VET Team.

The report was launched at The Gathering, Léargas’ flagship annual event, in Dublin on 15 October 2026.

The event featured an introduction to the study by experts from the VET Team, a presentation of the research findings, and contributions from VET learners and staff who had participated in Erasmus+ mobility activities.
