Our Impact in Numbers

Léargas programme delivery has expanded significantly between 2021 and 2025, with contracted Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps projects rising from 144 to 454 and funding increasing from €14.8 million to €35.8 million.

The number of contracted projects across rose by 21%, funding awarded increased by 22% and forecasted participants increased by nearly 18%Of the projects contracted, 374 were Erasmus+ Mobility projects (KA1), compared with 49 Erasmus+ Partnership projects (KA2) and 31 European Solidarity Corps projects.

Increased Participation

Out of the 15,000 forecasted participants in Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps that Léargas supported in 2025, nearly half were people with fewer opportunities. This reflects our continued commitment to inclusion and increasing access to international learning and exchange.

We also engaged 1,619 participants across Ireland, Europe and programme counties through TCA and Networking activities in 2025. Additionally, we sent 132 participants from youth, education and training and sport to TCA and Networking opportunities abroad.

Launch of PEACEPLUS-ASPIRE

2025 also saw the launch of PEACEPLUS-ASPIRE. This cross-border initiative seeks to address the enduring challenges of division and inequality in Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland by fostering sustained and meaningful collaboration across educational and community settings.

In its first year, the programme reached over 482 school and pre-school settings, engaging children and young people from diverse cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds across Northern Ireland and the border counties.
