Léargas is issuing a call for practice to be featured at the European Youth Work Conference 2026.

As an Associated Event of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Léargas are hosting this conference in partnership with the Department of Education and Youth and other stakeholders. The conference theme is: Creating Safe Youth Spaces Where Young People Can Connect, Participate and Contribute to Their Communities. The conference will bring together youth workers, policymakers, researchers, educators, local authorities and young people to explore evidence-based approaches that strengthen participation, belonging, wellbeing and community connection.

Why Submit?

We are seeking inspiring and impactful examples that demonstrate:

• • Youth participation and co-creation in decision-making and community development.
  • Safe and inclusive physical or hybrid youth spaces.
  • Innovative youth work methods and approaches.
  • Effective responses to barriers to inclusion and participation.
  • Initiatives that enhance young people’s wellbeing, belonging, and connection to their communities.
  • Erasmus+ and European cooperation projects that show meaningful impact.

Selected practices will be showcased through workshops, interactive sessions, practice demonstrations, conference publications, and creating opportunities to share learning with colleagues from across Europe.

Please note: Submitting a practice is also an expression of interest in attending the conference. Applicants whose practice is not selected for presentation may still be invited to participate as conference delegates, subject to the selection process and available places.
