Needs Analysis for Quality KA1 Project Design in Adult Education

4-7 Nov 2026 | Thessaloníki, Greece

Effective needs analysis is a fundamental stage in the design of a high-quality KA1 mobility project, as it ensures that the objectives, activities and expected outcomes respond to the actual needs of the organisation and its learners. The main aim of the seminar is to strengthen the capacity of Adult Education organisations to design high-quality Erasmus+ projects by making systematic and evidence-based use of needs analysis methodologies. Particular emphasis will be placed on linking needs analysis with the formulation of project objectives, the selection of appropriate mobility activities, the design of expected outcomes and the maximisation of the impact of KA1 projects.

More specifically, the TCA aims to:

  • Develop knowledge and practical skills related to needs analysis methods and tools in the field of Adult Education.
  • Strengthen participants’ capacity to identify, document and prioritise the needs of their organisations and target groups, as a basis for designing high-quality KA1 projects.
  • Improve the formulation of clear, realistic and evidence-based objectives that derive directly from the results of the needs analysis.
  • Enhance the quality, relevance, inclusiveness and expected impact of Erasmus+ proposals in the field of Adult Education.
  • Strengthen the capacity of organisations to design and implement high-quality mobility activities for adult learners with low basic skills and other groups facing barriers to participation in learning, in alignment with the priorities of the European Commission and the Union of Skills initiative.
  • Empower organisations, particularly those with limited experience or activity in Erasmus+, to make effective use of the opportunities offered by the programme.
  • Promote transnational cooperation, networking and the exchange of good practices among organisations active in the field of Adult Education.

During the TCA, participants will attend presentations delivered by specialised experts, work in transnational groups and take part in experiential workshops, where they will apply needs analysis tools and techniques in practice, using real or simulated examples of KA1 project design.
