Inclusion, Participation, and Community Spaces in Youth Work

25-28 May 2026 | Dublin, Ireland

Access to safe spaces is essential for the development and well-being of young people yet recent research indicates that safety is an ongoing issue for young people.

This study visit aims to bring together youth workers from across Europe to explore these issues, to visit youth organisations that have worked with young people in their communities to create these safe spaces, and to gain the skills to influence change at a local level, in partnership with young people.

Objectives

  • To reflect on what young people are telling us about their communities.
  • To explore relevant research in both an Irish and European context.
  • To understand the impact and social change that an Erasmus+ project can have within a community, discovering the possibilities of local participation.
  • To share best practice from within your organisations and communities.
  • To visit youth organisations to share practice in this area.
  • To embed inclusion and participation strategies within your work and learn how these can support creating safe spaces
  • To explore how European opportunities can support youthwork, inclusion and participation
  • To explore potential projects under the Erasmus+ programme
  • To give the opportunity to find good and reliable partners with whom to develop projects within the Erasmus+ Youth creating a solid network of contacts and alliances.
