Training Opportunities

Did you know that we can fund you to take part in training events that help you prepare, apply for and run European Solidarity Corps projects? Each year Léargas chooses a number of particularly relevant training events that people working in the Irish youth and volunteering sector can be funded to attend.

Relevant events will be listed here.

To apply to go to a training event, click on the link after the listing.  Léargas will then get in touch with you to let you know if your application has been successful.

Take your Partner by the Hand
Dublin, January 14-17 2020

Target: This contact-making seminar aims to bring together inclusion organisations, or organisations working with young people with fewer opportunities to build and work together through short-term volunteering projects. The seminar will support you in developing project ideas as well as provide practical tools to support your practice when working with young people.

Aims:

  • understand the needs of young people with fewer opportunities
  • develop practical tools and skills to support organisations and young people to take part in ESC
  • explore organisational values–in particular inclusion–and how they connect to ESC
  • build partnership amongst participants and support them in project development
  • provide examples of best practice in both sending and hosting young people with fewer opportunities.

The seminar will highlight the benefits and challenges faced by both hosting and sending organisations.

Kelly is currently in Madeira. She took the opportunity to volunteer over there for 7 months. She is enjoying free accommodation and some pocket money, meeting new people from different countries, learning Portuguese language, and gaining life experience. Take a look at the pictures we received from Kelly. She is volunteering as tour guide:)
How? She joined the European Solidarity Corps. For #free
