Sports against Racism, Sports for Inclusion

Mon, Mar 21st, 2016

21 March is the UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, so it’s fitting that today on the Léargas blog, Amina Moustafa, a youth leader with SARI (Sports Against Racism Ireland), tells us what she learnt about using sport to encourage inclusion while on an Erasmus+ Transnational Cooperation Activity (TCA) in Cyprus last year.  Whether teaching others how to play Gaelic Football or searching for a blue bicycle in a Cypriot village, Amina found that each activity “had a lesson behind it that we could use and put into action as a way to promote inclusion with our organisations”. Read more about Amina’s experiences here. TCAs are organised by National Agencies throughout Europe and are available to those working in Adult Education, School Education and VET as well as in the Youth sector (like Amina).
