Audrey Frith has been appointed Eurodesk Brussels Link director. Audrey is from France originally and has been working in EU affairs and project management in education, training and youth for more than ten years. On her appointment she said, “I am very glad to join the Eurodesk network and to work with the national contact points and multipliers. As Director, my aim is to contribute to building a strong network offering quality information to young people on the opportunities offered to learn, work and volunteer abroad.”
Speaking about the overall importance of Eurodesk, she said “I am convinced about the need to invest in education worldwide because of its role for empowering people; learning mobility is particularly powerful in opening up the minds of young people. In the current European context, and the rise of populism and far-right movements, offering such an opportunity to all young people could really make a difference in building a society that is much more open and tolerant to diversity. This is without mentioning the wider benefits of learning mobility in developing social, civic and intercultural competences and in improving employability. All Europeans should have such an opportunity, especially those from disadvantaged groups. For that, access to quality information is central.”
Léargas and Eurodesk Ireland warmly welcome Audrey’s appointment and look forward to working with her!
