As part of the Erasmus+ Learning Beyond the Boundaries initiative in Inchicore College of Further Education, students recently spent three weeks in La Pacifique Choreographic Development Centre, Grenoble France. There they worked with international Dance professionals and created their choreographies.
On their return from Grenoble they performed at the Irish Youth Dance Festival in Dun Laoghaire. The company was then invited to perform in Bel-fest 15: international youth Dance showcase. Here they performed on two occasions: culture night in Belfast City and again at Theatre at the Mill, Newtownabbey. This was a residential weekend in Stranmillis University hosted by Dance United (DU DANCE NI). The dancers participated in masterclasses with Elisa Macauley (a member of the Performing Arts Faculty at Edgehill University) alongside other dance companies including those from Scotland, Austria and Ireland.
These professional opportunities have arisen as a direct result of participating in Erasmus+. These experiences are an integral part of the students’ lifelong learning journey into the professional workplace.
