An Inclusive Europe: Stronger Together

Dublin Castle Conference Centre

Tuesday 03 December 2019

Join us on 03 December for the Léargas Forum at Dublin Castle Conference Centre. We have an exciting day planned with a keynote address from Hazel Chu, a performance from Experience Japan Taiko Team and a lively panel discussion about the role of educational exchange and cooperation programmes in building a more inclusive Europe. As political and socio-economic shifts in Europe and the wider world create a climate of unpredictability, it has become more important than ever to counter marginalisation and exclusion. We believe that European values and the programmes we manage have a part to play in building a more inclusive Europe, where we are truly stronger together.

  • Keynote address – Dublin City Councillor Hazel Chu
  • Panel discussion – The role of educational exchange and cooperation programmes in building a more inclusive Europe, with panellists including Tony Geudens (SALTO Inclusion), Conor Galvin (UCD), and project participants
  • Performance by the Experience Japan Taiko Team
  • Project Showcase – connect with exhibitors who have current projects
  • Ask Léargas Hub – our staff will answer your questions about all our programmes and initiatives, including the 2020 Erasmus+ call for applications.

Adding Europe; getting value from European Cooperation, Collaboration and Co-Teaching in educational projects Conor Galvin

We often talk about bringing a european dimension to our work as teachers and doing projects which reach-out to european partners and/or use project materials to locate and energise learning in our teaching worlds. But it can be difficult to get a good balance in this between the novel and the truly valuable. Drawing on personal experiences across a range of projects at all levels of education, this workshop sets out to offer both practical advice and ideas to start with if you are thinking about ‘adding Europe’ to your students learning in the near future.

Using Research Results to Increase Engagement – RAY Network/Léargas

The RAY Network researches the impact of Erasmus+ Youth in Action on young people and youth organisations across Europe. This workshop will present the Network’s most recent results, and explore how organisations can actively use these results to increase engagement among their own stakeholders.

Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships for Social Inclusion – Léargas

This thematic workshop is for Erasmus+ beneficiaries addressing the theme of social inclusion as part of their KA2 Strategic Partnership projects. Participants will learn from and engage with a network of peers involved in similar projects, disseminate any outputs or outcomes to date and discuss the challenges and opportunities encountered.
