ECML Workshop: A Pluriliteracies Approach to Teaching for Learning

A pluriliteracies approach builds on Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approaches to help learners become better meaning-makers, who can draw on content knowledge to communicate successfully across languages, disciplines and cultures. In this way it promotes deep learning and helps develop responsible, global citizens.

This free two-day ECML workshop is for language, science and other teachers, teacher trainers and trainee teachers. It will be delivered by

  • Professor Do Coyle, Professor of Learning Innovation at the University of Aberdeen and a leading international expert in CLIL;
  • Dunja Chamberlain, Middle School Assistant Principal at the International School of Geneva who will share findings on her assessment of language progression when Science is taught through the medium of L2 and will give tips to adapt classroom practices to ensure greater progress and success;
  • Frederic Taveau, trainer in CLIL/Pluriliteracies and language teacher at the International School of Geneva.

To register, email by 9 March 2017.
