Drama for adult language learning event, Dublin

Outhouse, 105 Capel Street, Dublin 1

Would you like to explore drama as a method for adult language learning?

This interactive workshop will include a mixture of theory and practice, instructing participants on using drama as a tool for language acquisition. It will examine teaching language through inclusive games, improvisation and scene study with a special focus on exploring grammar points through movement and action. It will also include encouraging student collaboration and ownership of this process, by using relevant and reflective materials important to their personal experience and needs.

About the Facilitator

This workshop will be led by Miriam Stewart, a CELT accredited teacher and drama facilitator. She has 12 years’ experience teaching in Ireland, Kenya, India and Thailand as an English language teacher. She also has voluntary experience with SUAS in conducting teacher training in English language teaching and drama, coordinating teaching teams in Africa and Asia and liaising with local educators to develop language and arts curricula.

This seminar is hosted by LéargasLanguages programme and by EPALE (the Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe), with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
