ECVET

ECVET is the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training. It is a framework for the transfer and recognition of learning outcomes across VET learning environments. It allows learners to accumulate their vocational experience with a view to achieving a qualification. ECVET is particularly useful to VET professionals who send their learners on mobility placements.

Read more about ECVET at European ECVET Network and see ECVET Toolkit for a description of the process and all necessary tools.

After 11 months of dedication Vanessa recently finished her European Solidarity Corps volunteer placement with our Cloverhill Family service in Belfast. Read Vanessa's story here:

"The service users are the most amazing Mothers and have the most energetic and lovely kids. I learned so many things about life especially from the families as their histories sometimes are quite hard.

"This year was the best of my life so far. Not only did I meet the most amazing friends here, but I also learned a lot from working at the hostel. The activities every week would mainly be a lot of arts and crafts and play sessions for the kids. I also tried to incorporate some sensory plays as well. At least once a week we would all cook and eat together and learn new fun recipes.

"In the afternoon there was a homework club for the school kids and after school activities whenever they were finished. When the weather allowed it, we went to the park and had some fun games and lunch there.

"This year taught me to be more independent and come more out of myself and appreciate the smaller things in life. I will miss this place a lot and it will always be my second home. Everybody I’ve met here will always have a big place in my heart and I will never forget the beautiful times we’ve had together."
