99 Borderless Balloons! 09 November, Dublin and across Europe

On the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall, students across Europe will release balloons to celebrate the end of the Cold War and the beginning of the reunification of Germany and Europe.

Each balloon will carry a message written by a student: each message will remind whoever finds it that on the 9th of November, 1989, the Berlin Wall came down and Europe started to leave behind the borders and barriers of the Cold War era.

The Irish students involved in the event come from Castleknock Educate Together National School in Dublin. The balloon release will take place at their school at 11am on 09 November: the same morning that students in all 27 EU countries release their balloons.

For more information or to attend the event, contact Malgorzata Fiedot-Davies in Léargas at (01) 872 2394 or 086 151 8370; eurodesk@leargas.ie
