Leonardo da Vinci Mobility is a European Union-sponsored action that aims to improve the quality of vocational education and training (VET) by supporting a range of partnership projects.

Through Léargas, the action supports:

  • those in initial vocational training
(FETAC Level 5 and Advanced Certificate FETAC Level 6)
  • people available on the labour market, including apprentices
  • VET professionals who manage, deliver or design training

Through the Higher Education Authority, the action supports students
at HETAC/DIT at Higher Certificate Level 6 and from Level 7 up.

The general objectives of this action are to:

  • support participants in training and further training activities
  • enable participants to acquire and use knowledge, skills and qualifications to facilitate their personal development, employability and participation in the European Labour Market
  • enhance the attractiveness of vocational education and training and mobility for individuals and to facilitate the mobility of working trainees.

Benefits

The Mobility action offers trainees and employees the chance to gain training and work experience in another European country. They can acquire new vocational, language and other skills, adapt to new situations, and gain insight into how training and workplace environments operate in other countries.

For those who manage, deliver or design vocational training, the action offers an opportunity to visit European partners to exchange expertise, experience and good practice in VET.
