Youth Initiatives bring together groups of young people to design, develop and run projects to explore a needs or ideas important to them.
Under Action 1.2, the Youth in Action Programme provides funding for Youth Initiatives involving groups of young people aged 15-30 (those aged under 18 years may participate if supported by a Coach)
Youth Initiative projects involve a core group of four young people (minimum) and can take place with or without transnational partners.
| Benefits | Youth Initiative projects are thought up, set up, run and managed by young people. They provide opportunities to young people to develop a range of skills and experiences through running their own national or transnational project. The projects also help young people to better understand their communitieis and address issues that have a direct impact on them. Taking part in a Youth Initiative project is an important non-formal learning experience. |
