EVS volunteers in the west of Ireland

European Voluntary Service (EVS)--Action 2 of the Youth in Action Programme--offers young people the opportunity to volunteer for up to one year internationally on projects run by approved organisations, known as hosting organisations. The volunteer's application is usually also supported by an approved organisation (sending organisation) in their own country.

BenefitsThrough EVS, volunteers are given the opportunity for personal development along with practical experience supported by the National Agency (Léargas in Ireland) before, during and after the their time abroad. 
Funding

EVS funding includes the following:

  • 100% of travel costs
  • €585 for sending organisation in Ireland to fund associated activity
  • €585 per month for hosting organisation in Ireland to cover living expenses of the volunteer (e.g. food, accommodation, local transport)
  • €125 per month allowance for volunteer in Ireland
  • exceptional costs for volunteers with special needs
  • 100% eligible costs (to a max of €500) for dissemination activities
