Study visits for education and vocational training specialists are one of the key actions of the transversal programme, the objective of which is to support policy development and cooperation at European level in lifelong learning. It addresses those who are responsible for the development of education and vocational training policies at local, regional or national levels.
Study visits provide a forum for discussion, exchange and mutual learning on themes of common interest at EU level; their objectives are to:
- enable those with responsibilities at local, regional or national levels to better understand specific aspects of education and vocational training policies and themes of common interest in other countries
- continue the exchange of advice, ideas and information between all those participating in the programme
- enrich the flow of information between the participating countries and at European level.
A study visit is a short stay of three to five days in a host country for a group of 10 to 15 European education and vocational training specialists and decision-makers.
| Benefits | Study Visits offer a range of benefits, such as:
- opportunities for networking and meeting potential partners for transnational projects
- fora for discussion, exchanges and learning on themes of common interest and on European and national priorities
- insights into innovative ideas and practices adopted elsewhere, ensuring up-to-date information about education and training systems across Europe
|
| Funding | The Study Visits Programme provides a grant to contribute towards:
- travel to attend a study visit in one of the Lifelong Learning Programme eligible countries
- a subsistence allowance that can be used for accommodation, travel insurance, meals and local travel in the visited country
