It’s exciting times in Léargas with a new structure, new challenges *and* new staff! Having received sanction from the Department of Education and Skills last year to hire staff into vacant posts, we started a recruitment process in late November and received hundreds of applications. We sincerely thank everybody who applied and came for interview and we welcome new staff members Petar Dukic, Wayne Tobin, Leo Gilmartin, Carmel Walsh, Rónnad Baot-Murphy, Bronagh Hanlon, Suzanne Kavanagh and Pia Janning; we’ll be welcoming other new colleagues in the coming months. We also congratulate colleagues in Léargas who have moved into new roles or areas of responsibility.
While reviewing our approach to recruitment, we decided to take the opportunity to re-structure our organisation to better meet the needs of programme management while allowing us plan strategically for the years ahead. Our new structure looks like this:
While we previously had two Client Services Teams, one for Schools & VET and one for Youth & Adult Education, we now have one Client Services Team for all sectors of Erasmus+. The team is headed by Lorraine Gilligan and is in the middle of welcoming new staff now and over the coming weeks. Existing staff in Léargas have also moved into new roles in the Client Services team. Our existing Operations and Finance team has also seen changes with a mix of new staff members and new roles. Visit our Meet the Team page for the details!
We have set up a new Strategic Initiatives Team which brings together eTwinning, EPALE, Eurodesk, IAESTE, ECVET and all three Languages Initiatives. Emma Grainger, who was formerly EPALE coordinator, has been appointed team manager and will take up the post when she returns from maternity leave. Our colleague Anne Molloy will be acting manager until that time. Permanent EPALE and eTwinning coordinators will be appointed in the coming months.
Charis Hughes of our Communications team now includes Impact Research in her role and she will be looking at many aspects of impact assessment at all levels of project and programme management in the coming months and years.
The contact details for the new teams are:
The details for the existing teams remain the same:
All these changes have meant that we still have some vacancies open in Léargas: you can find details on our Jobs page. The deadline for applications is 21 March.
Finally, our long-time colleagues Pat Halley and Eva Creely both retired at the start of February. We thank them for the massive contribution they have made to the organisation over the years. They will be sorely missed by colleagues and clients alike. We wish them great happiness in their new adventures!
