Léargas Organisation Structure

Léargas operates under the aegis of the Department of Education and Skills and the Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs. The Executive Director of Léargas, Mr Jim Mullin, reports to the Léargas Board, which is appointed by the Minister for Education and Skills.

Internally, Léargas is divided into five teams:

• Central Services, which provides administrative, financial and information management services to the whole organisation.
• The Education Service, which manages most of the schools programmes (Comenius, eTwinning, East West Schools), Study Visits and adult education (Grundtvig).
• Vocational Education and Training Services, which manages the Leonardo da Vinci and IAESTE programmes.
• Youth Work Services, which manages the youth and community programmes (Youth in Action, Causeway and eurodesk).
• The WorldWise team, which manages the Irish Aid schools linking and immersion programme. 

The National Centre for Guidance in Education operates under the aegis of Léargas.
